Larissa Hall Carlson, E-RYT 500, is Dean of the Kripalu School of Ayurveda, a Kripalu Yoga teacher, Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant, Prenatal Yoga teacher, Yee Yoga teacher, and Reiki practitioner.
As a dedicated student since 2003, Larissa has studied with some of the world’s most distinguished, knowledgeable, and esteemed teachers of yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda. A sample of Larissa’s yoga teachers includes: Rodney Yee, Colleen Saidman Yee, Richard Rosen, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Shiva Rea, John Kabat-Zinn, Jack Kornfield, Lama Surya Das, Stephen Cope, Yoganand Michael Carroll, Scott Blossom, and Zhander Remete. Since 2006, Larissa has been teaching yoga to reduce performance anxiety for the elite musicians and performers of Tanglewood Music Center. Formerly, as Manager of Yoga Education for Kripalu’s Institute for Extraordinary Living, Larissa taught yoga, meditation, pranayama, and yogic philosophy at the Boston Conservatory, Berkshire Opera Company, and Juilliard School.
As Faculty for Kripalu’s Schools of Yoga & Ayurveda, she currently directs advanced teacher trainings specializing in pranayama and the ayurvedic approach to yoga, and is a 200-hr and 500-hr Kripalu YTT director.
Larissa has passionately shared the teachings of these ancient wisdom traditions with dedicated students across the country, including those at Princeton, Harvard, Lawrenceville, and Emma Willard. Creator of the CDs Meditative Yoga Flow: A Kripalu Sadhana, Pitta-Pacifying Yoga, and Ayurvedic Pranayama and Meditation for the Doshas, she teaches workshops, directs yoga and Ayurveda trainings, and provides Ayurvedic consultations. When not on the road, you can find her writing, teaching, and consulting at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, MA.
